There are the jaded older actresses who try to sabotage the star of the show, a sweet ingenue appearing in her first play. There is the militant stage manager and the hapless assistant stage manager who at one point is thrust onstage when things start to go wrong. There is the dead body that can't quite stay dead and there is the young actress who is scammed into thinking she has a legitimate agent.
